Only you are saying there are no jobs. There are jobs. They may not be the type of jobs we hadRead Moreand which are heading out of the USA, but there are jobs. But that has been the pattern for years. Social security is not going to be affected by jobs for returning vets - this isn't WWII and the numbers is Afghanistan can have no impact on that problem. The biggest problem returning vets have is PTSD and suicides which result from it. That is a major problem and the Vet Administration is not doing its job. Eric Shinsecki was put in by Obama and is being criticized by some for failing to reform it and get it responsive to the needs of Vets, but I think its systemic and requires some structural as well as financial changes. And the problem with the entire social security program is the reduced level of employees putting money into the system as opposed to those who are receiving benefits, and this is only going to increase, barring a reversal of population trends. You can yell GOP all you want, but the members of GOP are voted in by their constituents, wisely or not according to your viewpoint. As I said, I tend to vote the candidate, not the party, but when you are voting for a national ticket, unless something changes, any vote other than for a Democrat or Republican really is only a protest vote. Which may well be one's choice. Some years ago, there was a move to add None of the Above on the ballot for national offices. It never got anywhere. It is really a protest vote and was subject to the same criticism other manner of protest votes attract. In any event, thanks for the reminder and keep up the fight.

Sure Grumps it sure certainly is not 1945 when the returning vet's for given the tools to get intoRead Moret he middle class after the war IN AN ATTEMPT to avoid the certain collapse of the economy and austerity of the GOP of the 20th century in the Hoover and Harding years. These T Party slugs are in congress to insure this does not happen again. The Romney-Bush China Macau enterprise zones have screwed everyone everywhere they and their Bankster have almost destroyed Europe and created the chaos the has thrown Africa to the vampires and vultures all to create new Asian bubbles which are showing the same signs of collapse as the American economy did following the dereg of the banks and glass steagles demise. College students in China are living in ant colonies 20 people to a one room apt 1 bath etc as their economy is about to collapse with all of our dollars in their Macau and Swiss accounts. The GOP Sen immigration reform wants to put a stop gap by bringing a million Chinese and Indian college grad's into the few places where American college grad's get work, of course they will be paid according to their Asian not American standards. Romney is the uncrowned Prince of Bainland Cjina who led the 60,000 factory's into the workers paradise not to employ college grad's but less than a buck per hr collies who do not require SSA CONTRIBUTIONS. The reduced level of employers and employees putting into the system includes the underemployed Wal Mart desperate employees who are told to apply for Medicaid and all he free stuff the tax payers give the unemployed, they are another by product of GOP-1% ECCONOMICS or 100 MILLION WORKERS in a Bain binder that includes children and women who are restricted by law to have another baby and defended by the corp Christian hypocrites in Dixie, Ralph Reed, Robertson, Huckabee and all the good ole boys out to destroy the SAFETY NET. Now put your libertarian mind to work and you will make the connect to the Reduced number of people with good paying jobs paying theirs and the employers share into the system. Then to compound the problem the 10 million jobs gone to China and India were good union and non jobs, the 15,000 corp in the Cayman islands CEO and people who are without a heart or a brain Dorothy steal more money from the USA tax payers with rebates and refunds from not even paying into the system. I never voted for a national party candidate unless he or her were Americans include the Clintons as corporate or anti humans as Perot said, I VOTED FOR Obama it is a mixed bag, I knew he was not as advertised or campaigned but the alternative was beyond holding your nose. The modern day GOP of the 21 st century are a combo of 19th century oligarchs leading the rank file KKK Dixie crat AND BY THE WAY most of their constituents also have a HATRED for JEB Stuart and many think he was assinated by a survivor of Pickett's Div.
