Coffee With the Mayor

Where: Grandma’s Table, 1700 Douglas Rd., Montgomery
Why go: Meet Montgomery Village President Marilyn Michelini, and speak your mind.

Saturday Storytime
When: 10 a.m.
Where: Oswego Public Library, 1111 Reading Dr., Montgomery
Why go: Kids can enjoy a story read aloud, and parents can enjoy some quiet time on a Saturday morning.

Salt Creek Ballet Presents The Nutcracker
When: 1 and 5 p.m.
Where: Paramount Theatre, 8 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora
Why go: It’s a holiday classic, performed by more than 90 local dancers with some special guests.

Third Annual Jingle Bell Jog
When: 9 a.m.
Where: Oswego 308 Center, 160 E. Washington St., Oswego
Why go: Get a head start on burning off those holiday pounds with a 5k run or a 1k walk. Come attired in “holiday wearables.”

The Von Trapp Children
When: 3 p.m.
Where: Paramount Theatre, 8 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora
Why go: The great-grandchildren of Captain Von Trapp, whose story is told in The Sound of Music, keep his legacy alive.

Aurora University Christmas Concert
When: 3 and 7:30 p.m.

Why go: Get into the holiday spirit with performances by the AU Chorale, Chamber Singers, Flute Ensemble and the Spartan Singers, with some pipe organ and audience caroling mixed in.

Montgomery Tree Lighting
