Weekend Grab Bag: Outdoor Fun in the Fox Valley

What fun are you going to pull out this weekend and beyond? Local events abound in the Patch lands of Montgomery, Oswego and Yorkville.

Friday, June 24

Happily Ever After, , Montgomery Campus
The Scoop: Kids will have a royal time completing various themed activities. Free.
Inside Info: Toddlers start at 9:30 and preschoolers at 1 p.m. 20/25 minutes to complete activities.

Music Under the Stars - , Yorkville
The Scoop: Enjoy a great evening with family and friends by the riverfront during this annual event co-hosted by the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce and the United City of Yorkville. 5:30 to 10 p.m. Free.
Inside Info: There will be music by EPIC, great food, a bags tournament and a ton of fun all down by Yorkville's riverfront.

Saturday, June 25

Farmers' Market, Town Square Park, Yorkville
The Scoop: Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon through October 29.
Inside Info: Offerings will include farm-grown vegetables, baked goods and fresh roasted coffee.

Yorkville Garden Walk, 902 Game Farm Rd, Yorkville
The Scoop: Yorkville Garden Club presents 5 inspiring gardens! New this year is the Garden Junction Boutique with affordable chic aprons, glass garden art, unique totes, and note cards - all for sale at different houses on the walk. Rain or shine. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Inside Info: Tickets are $10 per person in advance; $12 the day of the walk. Tickets may be purchased at the Yorkville Public Library, the Yorkville Flower Shoppe, Thistle Stop Garden Shop, Winding Creek Nursery, and online. (There is a small fee for purchasing tickets online using PayPal.)

Nanette's Boutique Grand Opening, 101 E. Center St., Yorkville
The Scoop: Nanette's will host the cheerleading squad from Famous Athletes. Ice cream will also be provided by Whitewater Ice Cream. Stop by and see what Nanette's has to offer. 1 to 4 p.m. Free.
Inside Info: Nanette's was previously located at 589 Heartland in Yorkville.

Old Time Baseball Game, Prairie Point Center, Oswego
The Scoop: History Without Boundaries presents an old-time baseball game, played with 1858 rules. Noon to 3 p.m. Free.
Inside Info: Playing will be the Chicago Salmon and the Deep River Grinders.

, Arranmore Center for the Arts, Oswego
The Scoop: Enjoy a glass of wine as some of Chicagoland's most beloved musical theatre singers perform songs they love from pop, jazz, theatre and original pieces. $25
Inside Info: The venue is outdoors on the farm. Participants should bring chairs, tables, blankets, food and drinks. Wine will be provided by Cooper's Hawk Winery.

Sunday, June 26

Oswego Country Market, Oswego
The Scoop: Every Sunday through September, this fresh-air market is full of locally grown produce, meat, eggs, fresh flowers, specialty food items and more. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Inside Info: Look for Tom's Organic Produce for farm-fresh summer treats.
