Friday, August 5
Kids Summer Garage Sale, Civic Center, 5 Ashland Ave., Montgomery
The Scoop: 7-12 year olds will be selling the toys and games they have outgrown for profit. Noon to 3 p.m.
Inside Info: Everyone is welcome to come shop. Free popcorn and lemonade for all.
Kendall County Fair, Yorkville
The Scoop: The 4-H fair runs through Sunday. Click HERE for a full schedule.
Inside Info: The fairgrounds are at the intersection of Route 71 and East Highpoint Road just 1 mile west of Route 47.
North Aurora Days, North Aurora
The Scoop: From book sales to garage sales to ice cream eating contests and fireworks, North Aurora Days is a community-wide fun event. Friday through Sunday.

The Age of Fiberglass, Plank Junior High, 510 Secretariat Lane, Oswego
The Scoop: Limelight Theatre Company presents a comedic story about the difficult transition from college to adulthood. $7/adults, $5/students. 7 p.m.
Inside Info: Limelight is a youth-oriented theater company sponsored by the Oswegoland Park District. You can purchase tickets at the door or in advance by calling 630-554-1010.

Farmers' Market, Town Square Park, Yorkville
The Scoop: Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon through Oct. 29.
Inside Info: Offerings will include farm-grown vegetables, baked goods and fresh roasted coffee.
Saturday Morning Stories, Oswego Public Library, 32 W. Jefferson St., Oswego; 1111 Reading Drive, Montgomery
The Scoop: Bring your little ones for picture book stories, songs, and rhymes. 10 a.m. Free.
Inside Info: No registration necessary. Storytime is slated for 20 minutes. Ages 2 to 6 with an adult.
Oswego Drag Raceway Reunion, Downtown Oswego
The Scoop: The Sixth Annual Oswego Drag Raceway Reunion will take place in downtown Oswego. Dragsters, gassers, muscle cars, original cars, altered cars and memorabilia will be included in the event. Noon to 7 p.m.
Inside Info: A "drive-thru check in" will take place at Village Hall, 100 Parkers Mill, from noon to 2 p.m. $15 per car.

Oswego Triathlon, Oswego
The Scoop: Swim, bike and run in Oswego's first triathlon. Starts at 8 a.m.
Inside Info: Water temperature was 86 degrees on Aug. 1.

The Scoop: Every Sunday through September, this fresh-air market is full of locally grown produce, meat, eggs, fresh flowers, specialty food items and more. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

DRAG RACE DAYS is a blast. I remember when the weekend would have the roar of Nitro engines in the air....RUM RUM ZOOM ZOOM. This was a great part of OSWEGOLAND's history and of my youth. Take a walk and see the past !
