Hundreds of people lit candles and shared their grief on Wednesday night at the Plainfield home of Tyler Montgomery, one of three teenagers killed in a car crash on Route 126 on Monday.

There were tears and laughs, stories and memories, as family members and friends recalled Montgomery, his girlfriend Alexis Banuelos of Naperville, and their friend Brian Herrera of Plainfield, all of whom lost their lives in the crash.

Tyler’s father Michael Montgomery played host, sharing his own thoughts, as well as his account of the afternoon of the accident. And throughout the evening, he handed the microphone off to Alexis’ parents, Ricardo and Raquel, and friends of the three teenagers, to tell their own stories.

Above you’ll find a video of some of those stories from the vigil. For more, read this story, which also includes visitation information.
