Three Injured in Crash on Orchard Road
Three people were taken to the hospital - one by helicopter - when a minivan collided with a semi truck on Tuesday night at Orchard Road and Route 30.

Three people were injured when a minivan collided with a semi truck at Orchard Road and Route 30 in Montgomery on Tuesday night.
The minivan was headed north on Orchard and crashed into a semi truck in the southbound lane around 8:20 p.m., Oswego firefighters said. Three people were injured in the crash, all women. Two were taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, and one was transported to another hospital by helicopter, which landed on Orchard Road just south of Route 30.
A fourth person involved in the accident refused medical treatment, according to Oswego Battalion Chief Jeff Warren. None of the names have been released, and Warren did not say whether the injured people were drivers or passengers.
The intersection remained closed as of 10:30 p.m., while the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team investigated. Warren said the roads would likely be blocked off for several more hours.
Firefighters from the Oswego Fire Department and the Montgomery and Countryside Fire Protection District were on the scene, as were Montgomery police and Illinois State Police. Check back with Patch for more details on this story.

We can see you when you're looking in your mirror (putting on your makeup), but we can't always stop in time. Please drive safely. Big trucks take 2 to 4 or even 8 times the normal stopping distance that cars do depending upon the conditions.

From what the witnesses said last night at the scene, the truck was not moving very fast at all. It was making a left turn and had a almost clear road in front of him. As he was turning the light had changed and the van seemed to speed-up thus meeting the trucking the intersection, and hitting the truck almost head-on. Sadly someone did not make it in this accident. Just because 3 minutes more would have made them later then the could have been.
My thoughts and prayers go out to those effected by this accident.

Can anyone give me info on what happened last night between 11:30 and 12:30am on Dixon Rd and Galena Rd in Montgomery Illinois. My husband and I saw 4 police cars, an ambulance and a fire truck from our home in Huntingtonchase subdivision. I can't find any info.

I don't have to assume anything, I have friends as police and first responders all over the country, and in almost all cases, when the accident reconstruction team is on the scene, they are there do to the accident being a fatal one.

Yes Kevin it was. as I stood by the accident at Orchard and 30 I heard a police officer tell one of the first responders this was the case. at the other location from this accident. I then seen the tow truck drive by us with the motorcycle on the back of it.

She was not dead on scene. I k ow cuz i stopped and was in the car with her until EMS an fire arrived, who did an excellent job with extrication. One of the worst accidents ive seen in 17 years as a paramedic. Suprised she even had a pulse when i climbed in the van. Thoughts with the family and mother and sister who were in the car and had to witness this. And shame on the onlookers standing in the road takin photos and video of the accident and when they wheeled her to the ambulance to wait for the helicopter. Thats messed up.

I saw a minivan and thought of kids so i got out. Just dis what anyone else would do. I hope they find the dog. I saw the dog run out and down rt 30 and the sister run adter the dog and was afraid they woul get hit. You would think that one or 2 of the 50 onlookers would have helped get the dog. Either way a sad story.

Her mom and sister were released but God decided to take Jenny away from those of us her knew her and cared about her. Jenny was an amazing young lady....shame on those of you who assume that she was rushed...once we all learned to drive, she was just a kid...She was sweet and quirky and loved by so many...It tears me up to hear there were people there that did not help with their dog. Pray for her family as they have such a hard road to travel down now.

Lets be respectful here. It was an ACCIDENT. Everyone here has tried to beat a yellow light. Including me. Countless times. This time it was tragic for someone. And please leave your assumptions to yourselves. Knowing people who do a certain job does NOT make you an expert, or correct. Imagine if you had to see your child like that , then read comments about them attached to a story. Its easy to stand on the sidelines and pass judgement and assume things.

To clearify to everyone accident reconstruction personel will always show up at an accident scene when a commercial motor vehicle is involved and there is any type of injury fatal or non-fatal
