Photo of Aldi Robbery Suspect Released

Armed robbery suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money Thursday night.

Yorkville police have released an image of the armed robbery suspect who robbed an Aldi cashier Thursday night.

The suspect remains on the loose, Yorkville Deputy Police Chief Larry Hilt said Friday morning.

"Our detectives are pouring over the evidence as we speak," he said.

According to police about 7p.m. Thursday night a masked man clad in camouflage and wearing what officers initially described as a construction helmet walked into the Bridge Street Aldi and demanded money from the cashier. He indicated he was armed, but did not display a weapon, Police Chief Richard Hart said Thursday night.

The suspect's disguise prevented witnesses from providing a clear descritption, Hart said.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The crime happened in less than five minutes, police reported.

There were witnesses to the incident, but no one was injured.

Kendall County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Crime rates drop when concealed carry laws are passed. It has been proven to work in every other state.

So I wonder if he had an accomplice who stayed with the bike and kept it running. No real good place to 'cycle' to in that area. It would look strange to see 2 people, one a big man, piled on a bicycle and booking through a parking lot.
