Paralympian Takes Home Another Medal in London
Joe Berenyi competed in the team sprint Sunday
Oswego Paralympian Joe Berenyi took home his second Olympic medal Sunday in London.
Berenyi won a bronze in the mixed C1 to 5 team sprint. Berenyi and his two teammates finished with a time of 52.749 behind gold medalist China and silver medalists Great Britain.
Berenyi took the gold in the 3km individual pursuit on Friday with a world-record time of 3:37.912.
Previously, Berenyi had won the individual pursuit at the national championships last fall in Los Angeles, and said it was one of the two events he was most looking forward to.
A construction accident in 1994 took Berenyi’s right arm and left kneecap.
Berenyi will compete in a road race later this week. The games wrap up on Sunday, Sept. 9
