Orchard Road BP Gas Station Closes

Location on Douglas remains open.

Gas prices have been dropping, but don’t expect to fill up your tank at the BP Gas Station at Orchard Route and 34.

The location has been confirmed closed, according to Village Economic Development Director Tony Lucenko. It has been closed since at least Sept. 18.

The BP on Douglas and Route 34, owned by the same person, remains open.

Despite several attempts, Patch was unable to reach the owner for comment

Ya know when it first opened had nice deli, fresh sandwich's, bagels, floor stocked to the max. Then new management came in and the first thing I noticed was the automatic change machines on cash registers was turned off. and employes had to "hand count" change. Ha! Deli got sparse, no fresh anything after a few months and PRICE GOUGING on the pump. So good riddance......

I'm surprised it took this long. The BP on Douglas and Route 34 and the the BP at Orchard and Route 34 were always .20 - .30 cents more expensive then the Walmart, Meijer, Dominicks.

BP is always 20-30 cents more than any other brand...outside of Shell.

The BP and Mobil at that intersection were equally priced. Both were always higher than the gas stations on 34.

The answer it closed is found in one of the following:

b. It was a SYMPATHY CLOSING to honor the closed Jack's Car Wash
c. The Oswego Building and Zoning Director ordered the BP closed to offer a challenge to Village Economic Development Director Tony Lucenko and Village President Brian "Choo-Choo" LaClerk to bring some new jobs to Oswego
d. The Indian BP Franchise got caught adding Perrier Water to the Regular Gas and selling it as Premium
e. The Oswego Patch newspaper hardcopy edition was no longer available there and many 3rd grade educated readers couldn't understand why.
f. The new Village of Oswego administrator was hiding out there too much.
g. John Purcell and the Kendall County Health Department ordered it closed so the Yorkville BP would get more business and hose Oswego on sales taxes.

Glad you don't mind providing money to the Mobil's record setting profits each year.

Doesn't surprise me. Our family always wonders why people buy from the BP at Douglas and 34, especially when we have seen their gas price as much as $.48 higher than even Dominicks. You BP patrons - why do you buy there? Do they offer $.50 off per gallon if you use their credit card? Genuinely curious.
