I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Aurora Township Fire Department in their efforts in locating Eileen Kramer. Early Friday morning, Deputy Fire Chief Martin Kelley contacted Montgomery P.D. to see if Ms. Kramer had been found overnight, which she had not been. He offered the assistance of the department and a search party was readied and briefed. In about an hour, 15 volunteers from the fire department, Parkside Lanes and Montgomery Landscaping, along with 8 personal ATV's / UTV's were assembled to assist in the search. Approximately 45 minutes into the seach, Mel & Kurt Frieders searching from their UTV located Ms. Kramer on the edge of the woods. Unable to move and suffering from exposure due to the overnight temperatures in the teens, Ms. Kramer was given immediate care by Aurora Township Paramedics and transfered to Rush-Copley for treatment.
I am grateful for so many unselfish volunteers who took the time and had the determination to locate and save Ms. Kramer's life. Sometimes we are reminded that our very best resources are only a phone call away.
Sincerely, Fire Chief Robert Watermann
