Montgomery Resident Wants Answers on 911 Dispatch Decisions

Send your letter to the editor to montgomery@patch.com.

As a resident of the Village of Montgomery, I am curious why Sugar Grove decided to seek dispatching services elsewhere, and why the senior leadership in Montgomery didn't eagerly work to keep Sugar Grove a part of Montgomery's Dispatch services.

I have lived in the area my entire life. I have been a village resident for 11 years. It cost the tax payers and the village a lot of money to build the new police station and include a state of the art dispatch center.

What will become of the dispatch center? The fate of the 8 dispatchers should be considered, as they are the ones who have been loyal to our village; it's comforting to know they are there, they are village residents, this is their community.

Dispatching is a difficult job, they need to know someone is looking out for them; as they are ALWAYS looking out for the well being of our community.

In the event of having to call 911, I don't want my call routed to Yorkville; where it may be answered by someone unfamiliar with Montgomery's geography.

So, to Mr. Brolley, I would know a difference. So I am asking Chief Meyers, "why did Sugar Grove sever the relationship?"

Great question and there are many more waiting in the wings! Seems we can hire more after if we cut dispatch (officers). I'm sure happy to say I will be saying no to many of the "I WANTS" in our Village because "just because" or "not my job" doesn't cut it people!
Time for someone to take control and stop the it's in the Budget, or I'll vote with you that happens all to often - Can we say backbone! I have one and I'm not going to run away and stick my head in the sand like a few of our trustees on the board now seeking election of higher office or retain after how many years of same same.
Montgomery needs to return to the old days when TRUSTEE did mean TRUSTED!
