Montgomery Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Route 30

Christopher Glover, 37, died early Tuesday morning from injuries he sustained in a Monday night crash between his motorcycle and a car on Route 30 at Prescott Drive, police said.

A Montgomery motorcyclist involved in a crash at Route 30 and Prescott Drive on Monday night has died from injuries sustained in the accident, Montgomery police said.

Christopher Glover, 37, of the 2400 block of White Rose Drive in Montgomery, was driving his Kawasaki motorcycle east on Route 30 around 9:40 p.m. when a westbound Nissan Ultima driven by an 18-year-old Montgomery girl turned in front of him, police said. The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the car, police said.

Glover was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, where he died early Tuesday morning, police said.

Eric Gaytan, Glover’s friend and family member, said he received a call about Glover late Monday night, after he had been taken to the hospital. Glover, he said, was the father of three children, all teenagers, and Gaytan’s own kids would play with them often when they were growing up.

“He was a great guy and a good dad,” Gaytan said. “I feel horrible for his kids. He was their best friend.”

Jesse James, who now lives in Georgia, said he has known Glover since they both were 13 years old. Their dream, as teenagers, was to ride in Motocross events. They both had motorcycles as young adults, and drove them “until the wheels fell off,” he said.

James was the best man at Glover's wedding, he said. The two remained in contact throughout their lives, he said, and in fact spoke online just last week – naturally, about motorcycles.

“Man, he was a great dude,” James said. “His kids were his life, and he was their life.”

No charges have been filed, and the case remains under investigation, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Montgomery Police investigations tip line at 630-897-8707, ext. 3300.

This is the second fatal accident to happen on Route 30 in less than a week. Three people were injured when a minivan collided with a semi truck at Orchard Road and Route 30 in Montgomery last Tuesday, May 8. The minivan's driver, 16-year-old Jennifer VanEtten of Big Rock, died Wednesday from injuries sustained in the crash.

My dad was the best in the world. </3
It was so sudden, he didn't deserve this.
He was funny, awesome, the best dad there could possibly be.
He's in heaven right now, Chillin' with Kurt Kobain. :)
When My Mom, Michelle said "Listen... He didn't make it." To my sister and brother.
I started crying like hell. almost for 4 hours.
I'm never gonna be able to get over my father's death.
~Chris' son, Dalton.

Glovers, I'm really sorry this tragedy happened to your family. I'll be praying for you, and for the girl who caused the accident. I can't imagine how terrible it would feel to lose my husband and my kids' dad, or how terrible it must feel to cause a fatal accident. I live very close to that intersection. It is so important for people to drive safely and not be in a hurry. A few seconds for safety's sake is a small price to pay to prevent the price you have to now pay. My heart goes out to you.

He raised a amazing son. I love his son, he had to be a great guy. Im sorry I didn't get to meet him, but I'm sure I would have liked him. I hope that people know he's still watching out for them and that he had a good son and life.

Although I did not have the pleasure of knowing Christopher, I am his Dad's( Dan's) 1st cousin. I am praying for each an every one of you. I can not fathom a tragedy of this magnitude. No parent should have to deal with losing a child, or children of that age losing a parent. Christopher was truly ripped out of this world. You will remain in my prayers. Heidi A. Coop
