Free food and drinks will be served.

Editor's note: The following is a press release from the Montgomery Fire Protection District.

The Montgomery Fire Protection District will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at Fire Station #1, 198 S. Railroad St.

Saturday’s event will include information on fire safety in the home, poison control tips, and child car seat safety, and opportunities for kids to try on firefighter gear and use fire hoses. There will also be coloring activities, movies, and inflatable bouncers.

Free food and drinks will be served during the open house.

This year the open house marks the end of Fire Prevention Week, which is Oct. 8-12.

Is Yorkville doing a similar event? Didn't see anything in the Yorkville patch but my son heard something about this during his fire station tour yesterday with school.
