Montgomery Animal Hospital Grows to Meet Patient Needs
Facility now offers boarding, grooming and training.
Even though her patients aren’t technically related to their caregivers, Dr. Linda Flieg’s favorite part of being a veterinarian is the relationships she has with her clients’ families.
“I love meeting the families and learning more about them,” Flieg said. “When you have patients for their whole lives, you really form a bond with them and their owners.”
Flieg opened Orchard Road Animal Hospital in 1992, and since then has expanded beyond medical services to include boarding, grooming and training for pets at the Montgomery facility.
“I’m so happy to be able to offer all the services we do here,” Flieg said. “It is great to work with clients in so many ways.”
Joining Flieg at Orchard Road Animal Hospital are Drs. Cheryl Distajo, Joel Huffman, Kristen Kennedy and a support staff of 20.
Flieg is proud to see how Orchard Road Animal Hospital has grown, especially since the practice hasn’t always offered so many services.
She said a well-planned expansion that opened in 2001 is what led to the practice being able to accommodate clients in so many ways. The office, at 1175 Orchard Road, now has several private rooms with amenities such as adjustable exam tables suited for dogs and cats and white noise machines to help patients stay calm. In addition to a state of the art facility, the Orchard Road Animal Hospital also offers a high level of service to its clients. The practice is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association, an honor Flieg said is reserved for the country’s top veterinary clinics.
“I’m proud to see how far we’ve come,” said Flieg, who has been in the veterinary business for 26 years. “It is a great feeling to know we are providing the animals [in this area] with top-notch service.”
