Local Holiday Markets and Fairs for Holiday Shopping

Plainfield

Holiday Craft Fair

What: Crafters selling homemade creations; a concession stand, bake sale and chances to win items from participating crafters

When: Saturday, Nov. 3 (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

Where: St. Mary Immaculate gym, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield

Cost: Free

Holiday Sparkle Fair

What: Crafts from around the world, handmade dog leashes and toy, plus homemade candy, cookies, pies, cakes and other treats, not to mention a soup and bread luncheon with homemade soups to eat in or carry-out from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. More than 20 raffle gift baskets will be up for grabs, plus a handmade, partially furnished "Victorian manor" dollhouse. The church's youth group willl offer a resale with crafts, gently used items and books. A garage sale will also coincide with the event.

When: Saturday, Nov. 17 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

Where: Plainfield United Congregational Church of Christ, 24020 W. Fraser Rd., Plainfield

Cost: Free

St. Francis Xavier Holiday Bazaar

What: There will be crafters and vendors galore, bake sale goodies and Santa will also be available for pictures.

When: Noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2

Where: St. Francis Xavier, 2500 Arbeiter Rd. (Joliet)

Cost: Free

Oswego

Boulder Hill Elementary Annual Holiday Fair

What: A holiday market put on by local vendors and crafters for the holiday season at Boulder Hill Elementary

When: Saturday, Nov. 17 (9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.)

Where: Boulder Hill Elementary

Cost: Free

Christmas Bazaar

What: Second annual Christmas Bazaar. There will be over 40 vendors to help start your early Christmas shopping. Homemade cookies will be available for $5 and $10 plates and lunch will also be available for puchase

When: Saturday, Nov. 17 (9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

Where: The Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington St., Oswego  

Cost: Free

Holiday Market Old Fire Barn

What: During the annual Christmas walk, lots of favorite vendors from the summer and fall country market will be selling their wares.

When: Saturday, Dec. 8 (9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)

Where: Near old fire barn, Main Street, Oswego

Cost: Free

Yorkville

Immanuel Lutheran Church Holiday Shoppe and Bake Sale

What: A holiday sope of handmade items from local artisans, as well as holiday and everyday décor and gifts, plus a delicious bake sale

When: Saturday, Nov. 10 (10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)

Where: Immanuel Lutheran Church, 10104 Immanuel Road, Yorkville

Cost: Free

Aurora

Wheatlands Holiday Shoppe

What: A craft fair for students to be able to purchase gifts at lower prices. Lots of goodies to be found.

When: Friday, Nov. 30 (6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.)

Where: Wheatlands Elementary School, 2290 Barrington Road West, Aurora

Cost: Free 

A Marmion Family Christmas

What: A craft fair of over 150 crafters from all over the Chicagoland area.

When: Saturday, Nov. 24 (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) and Sunday, Nov. 25 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)

Where: Marmion Academy, Regole Field House, 1000 Butterfield Road, Aurora

Cost: $4 for everyone 12 and older.

Naperville

Holiday Market for COTA

What: A holiday market where part of the proceeds will go to Yorkville resident Ben Varcoe, who is undergoing a double-lung transplant.

When: Sunday, Nov. 4 (11am

Where: VFW Hall in Naperville, 908 Jackson Ave., Naperville

Cost: $2 donation for adults and a $1 donation for children 6-13, under 5 are free.

Hi Natalie and Steven--do you know who I could contact to see if Kylie and her hair bows could get into the vendor fair during the Oswego Christmas Walk? She is now trying to collect for Toys for Tots and this would be a nice venue. Thanks for any help you can provide--Alicia Schimmel
