I'm really tired of getting the negative news headlines in my email inbox!!! The dui arrests are getting out of hand. The police are abusing power and getting kudos for bringing money to the city which pays for them to have fancy cars and building renovations. It will not stop people from making mistakes. Back in the day the police would call a friend for you if you were not able to drive! Police quotas should be banned!!! It really bothers me to see them going crazy and pulling people over at the end of the month so they can make their quota. The police are harassing good people and ruining their lives!!!

Apparently you are just trying to get a rise out of people! Looking for some excitement perhaps! I find it hard to believe that you can look at these DUI's and say it is about money, not saving lives!

I agree! Not to minimize DUI but lets get these guys out of their cars and do things besides monitoring others in cars.

WOW! Part of the article states that the people were stopped and arrested on Jan1. NOT THE END OF THE MONTH. I personally appreciate the efforts of the police. I love the armchair quarterback mentality when it comes to how the police should handle their affairs. RIDICULOUS!

What the h*** is wrong with the commenter's, these are DUI's in the early part of the month. I don't care if they make a million on "quotas" if they are arresting drunk drivers. Do you have any idea how many innocent people are killed each year from drunk drivers? Cud-dos to the fine police doing what they are paid for, protecting people.

I AGREE with you Mr. Veach! My sister-in-law was killed by a drunk driver. If you drink, have a sober person drive for you or even better STAY AT HOME AND OFF THE STREETS!!!!

Hey Oswego taxpayer, I hope you're not driving anytime soon. Only a person who's not in their right mind would make such irresponsible comments. Nothing you said could be mistaken for a rational thought. You seriously think the police are harassing drivers? Have someone pick up the drunk? Wow, that'll make them think twice about driving drunk next time. You' be got to be kidding! I hope you're not feeding any kids with this trash. Do me a favor, let us know when you're on the road so we can all get off of it.

Hmmm, why do cops focus on traffic enforcement in Kendall County?
How many homicides have their been in Kendall County in the last five years? 2 or 3 by my count. How many traffic fatalities over the same time? I'm conservatively guessing 50-60. Heck, sometimes 3 or 4 people die in one wreck.

So, I guess the police know more about the dangers facing the public than Oswego Resident. What a shock. Oh, and before anyone starts ranting about catching murderers, there hasn't been a murder in Kendall County for 20 years that the police haven't caught and jailed the offender.

I'm sure Oswego Resident would be upset with the police for not enforcing DUI more if his mother (or other loved one) was killed by a drunk driver. It's sad that he would actually think that police shouldn't even worry about drunk drivers when people are killed by them everyday in this country

Oswego resident, you say that until someone you love gets killed by a drunk driver. Then you'll be PO'd that there wasn't a cop there to stop it. You have an incredibly small mind, lack significantly in the intelligence department, and I would guess your past probably involves a DUI or two... Only someone who makes a habit of driving drunk would make such a stupid comment. I say great job to the local cops, keep up the good work.
