Kendall County DUI Arrests: Dec. 15
A look at recent driving under the influence charges around Kendall County.
Yorkville
Dec. 1 Yorkville police charged an Aurora man with DUI after stopping him for speeding, according to police. Daniel H. Cabrera, 26, was observed allegedly speeding along Route 71. He was pulled and police subsequently charged him with DUI.
Oswego
Dec. 10 Denard Y. Miller, 40, of the 100 block of Gregory Street, Aurora, was arrested at 2 a.m. at Route 34 and Prairie Market, Oswego and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed for crash, said Oswego police. Miller was also cited for the possession of open containers of alcohol in the vehicle and for driving on a suspended license.
Dec. 8 Amy Sue Unger, 50, of the 3000 block of Winchester Court, Aurora, was arrested at 11:28 p.m. at Route 34 and Orchard Road, Oswego, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office.
Dec. 7 Nicholas Alexander Allen Girup, 28, of the 1300 block of Light Road, Oswego, was arrested at 5:39 a.m. at Dolores Road and Laurie Lane, Oswego, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and the possession of cannabis, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. He was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Dec. 1 Tyler J. Lorang, 21, of the 300 block of East Benton Street, was arrested at 2 a.m. in the 400 block of Arboretum Way, Oswego and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, said Oswego police. He was also charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and for not having a valid driver’s license on hand.
Montgomery
Dec. 9 Roquelin Flores, 30, of the 900 block of West New York Street, Aurora was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him for speeding at 2:05 a.m. Dec. 9 at routes 30 and 31, Montgomery police said. Reports state Flores was also charged with driving with a revoked license.

I don't condone smoking marijuana but why are people being arrested for possessing it and our own government is dealing the drug?!

Legal Pot, Government Pot, Whatever-kind-of-Pot is one thing, driving under the influence while your family members are on the road is another. This week on my way to work @ 8am on the Fox River Rt 34 Bridge I watched a guy in my mirror behind me light up his aluminum foil Pot Pipe. Mid to later 40's in a mini-van. Really? The Breakfast of Champions for a grown man with no regard to his neighbor.

Why do we report this kind of information? These people definitely showed poor judgement and will pay a dear price in legal fees as well as other forms of punishment in the court systems. Why is it important to give their name and street location. It's like we're trying to publicly humiliate them. I barely ever drink. Don't condone drinking and driving at all but lets face it if restaurants serve alcohol and people drive to the restaurant it's a matter of time before they get stopped too. Next we'll start reporting who's late on their water bill.

It shocks me to see the same teachers and administrators drinking at local establishments. These are family places where students come with families. My daughter ran into her principal, who was clearly intoxicated. My daughter just thought she was really happy. We then saw her get in be car and drive off. Please make better decisions on where you go, like it or not you are role models.
