Kane County Treasurer's New Online Checkbook Let's You 'Follow the Money'

New tool allows public access to view disbursements made by the county.

Kane County Treasurer David Rickert announced Monday (Nov. 19) that an on-line checkbook feature has been added to the office website.

The tool allows public access to view disbursements made by the county. Kane County already provides a wealth of information to the public and has recently been awarded a 100 percent rating by Illinois Policy Institute for transparency.

“We are always looking for ways to improve an already good system,” Rickert said in the press release.

To use the on-line checkbook, viewers can go to KaneCountyTreasurer.org, select the link titled OnlineCheckBook and enter a date range and a vender.

“This look-up system will make it easy for the public to access information. You don’t have to be an accountant to use this feature,” Rickert said.

For additional information regarding Online Checkbook or other features on the treasurer’s Web Site, contact the Treasurer's Office at 630-232-3565.
