Aurora Police are investigating an attempted child abduction that occurred on the City’s west side Thursday afternoon, March 21.
At around 2:40 p.m., two girls, ages 5 and 10, were walking home from school in the area of Laurel Drive and Robert Street where they saw a vehicle stopped in the street.
They described the car as a newer, black, Toyota Camry, with an Illinois license plate that began with the number ‘9’. As they continued to walk, the driver of the vehicle rolled down the passenger side window, and while motioning with his hand, told the 5 year old to come over to his car. The 10 year old girl told the man that neither she nor the 5 year old would come near him and they backed away.
At that point, the driver, described as a white male around 27 years old with a large build, acne on his face, a small mustache, and wearing a black shirt and black hat, pulled the vehicle closer to the curb. The girls could then see that the man was not wearing any pants. He proceeded to say a sexually explicit comment to them while touching his genitals before driving away eastbound on Robert Street.
Police are asking anyone with information to call investigators at (630) 256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000. Callers to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5000 for information that leads to any arrests.
