The Montgomery Police Department has begun to utilize NIXLE, a community-wide electronic message system.

The program allows direct communication with thsoe who sign up to receive messages via e-mail, SMS or text.

NIXLE is used by the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the Council of State Governments, the Police Executive Research Forum and more.

Montgomery PD will send out periodic messages related to traffic problems; community ifnormation; advisories; alerts; and more.
